NASA finds thin belt of water molecules on the Moon’s surface

There may not be any bat people on the Moon’s surface, but scientists have found the remains of a likely reservoir. A few weeks ago NASA bombarded the moon’s south pole with spent rockets full of sensors. What water they found acts nothing like how water does on Earth.

From Science:

“None of the moon’s water is ever liquid. Water in its reservoirs can be imperceptibly sparse, flows into its reservoirs may proceed a few molecules at a time, and none may ever leave.”

Even more curious, the molecules seem to cluster around a thin belt around the moon’s surface instead of forming large pockets.

Still not enough water for Vespertilio homo to thrive there, but we’ll keep looking. After all that’s the whole point of this exercise isn’t it?

When the modern-day update of Sherlock Holmes aired on the BBC, audiences in the UK freaked over it so much that even before the last in the 3-episode season aired, the show had already been picked up by. Although already big in television Anglophile communities, Sherlock will inflict many more Americans with the same addiction soon after PBS airs the first episode.

Zombie-brain love and more images of hell politics explored in Ugly Americans

Written by

Some may call it repulsive, but when a floating brain decides to try some zombie loving, no one can stand in the way. Main character Mark Lilly kind of takes a back seat in this week’s episode of Ugly Americans “Sympathy for the Devil,” which focuses more on the Great Brain’s wife’s affair with Randall and Twayne’s deal for a politician’s soul that goes awry.

Grooveshark’s free music service makes listening to video game soundtracks a breeze

Written by

Nowadays when I get a hankering for the obscure ditties in the Fallout 3 soundtrack, I head over to Grooveshark. The service provides an AJAXian music player with instant access to millions of full songs, has incredibly flexible search capabilities, and doesn’t require an account to store your playlist.

Oh yeah, and it’s FREE! Also, the operation seems legit and paid-for so it’ll probably stick around for a while.

Supernatural episode Weekend at Bobby’s breaks the mold in a good way

Friday’s episode of Supernatural might not have pushed the story forward much this season, but it was a great effort in trying to tie up loose ends by following the show’s charming redneck Giles character Bobby Singer’s fight to get his soul back.

Creepy little wizard men kill each other as Zombie Lincoln goes to the theater in Ugly Americans

OK, so maybe I forgot to mention in last week’s recap that this show has some of the sickest sense of humor on television. But for an Augenblick Studios production, that’s just par for the course. Be warned: This week’s episode “Kill, Mark, Kill” has tons of hyper-violent scenes, such as the lovely one pictured above.
