Obama Administration Saves Taxpayer Money, Handshake Spends It

The Obama Administration has announced a plan to save taxpayers money.

The plan? All payments from the American government, such as Social Security, unemployment insurance, veterans benefits, etc. will now get paid using direct deposit. Or, if you don’t have a bank account, via a Debit card.

It’s not rocket science (but that will come in handy later) and is something that probably should have happened years ago. But, is a good step none-the-less.

Korean Soccer Team Drives Economy (And Future Birthrates?)

Convenience store owners in Korea may be the biggest winners from the Korea-Greece victory in the World Cup Saturday.

According to JoongAng Daily, a major English newspaper in South Korea, Bokwang Family Mart chain store sales in areas close to large cheering spots were 189 percent higher than last year’s sales. Sales between 4 p.m. and midnight, when crowds were heaviest, jumped 358 percent.

The conclusion? Through various scientific methods and arcane divination tools, we have determined that Splice is the creepiest goddamn thing ever in existence. And not scary creepy. More like “I need to go wash my eyes out with lye to get out the creepy” kind of creepy.

Waiting in a bus station in Plattsburgh, N.Y., last year, I listened to the CNN news anchors report about wildfires in California. They told viewers about Twitter updates from people fleeing their homes. They repeated tweets commenting on the matter. Every other sentence seemed to contain “Twitter” or “tweet.”

Where was CNN’s own reporting? Did the reporters not realize how silly they sounded reporting the news straight from Twitter.com?

Iran upped its ante in the propaganda war over a supposedly kidnapped Persian nuclear scientist Tuesday when it posted a webcam video made, the Islamic Republic claims, by its captive atomic brainchild.

Who was it that said that puns are the lowest form of comedy? He was wrong. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad jokes are the new low. They’re just too easy.
