Google Gives Windows The Boot

Google began to quietly phase out its employees’ use of Windows in January.

Several Google employees are saying the new semi-formal policy is either Linux, Mac, or GTFO.

Now it sounds like the only way to stay on the operating system is to have senior authority approval.

Though some are attributing the new policy to security worries, the Financial Times reports Google is also trying to support their own products.

Employees said it was also an effort to run the company on Google’s own products, including its forthcoming Chrome OS, which will compete with Windows. “A lot of it is an effort to run things on Google product,” the employee said. “They want to run things on Chrome.”
