There should be a word for when someone puts together two objects from your childhood in a way that makes you look fondly back at both, or takes something from our nostalgic collective conscious and blends it with something new. Hollywood re-makes of Saturday morning cartoons, 8-bit rock, and the re-telling of iconic moments through LEGO form are only a few examples.
And because I think there should be a word, I’ve invented one: Mashtalgia.
If you can think of a better word, let me hear it in the comments.
