Russian Fifth Generation Fighter Jet A Big Boost For Boris and Natasha
After watching a test flight of the Russkie’s newest fighter jet, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that the plane will be superior to the U.S.’s super jet, the F-22 Raptor. Now Boris and Natasha will be able to to catch moose and squirrel for sure.
The plane will cost up to a third less than the American equivalent and is expected to have a shelf life of 30 to 35 years. It’s a fifth generation plane with advanced weapons systems that can cruise at supersonic speeds.
According to Reuters, “successful development of the fighter…is crucial to showing Russia can challenge U.S. technology and modernize its military after a period if post-Soviet decay.” Further, Russia plans on making these jets in cooperation with the Indian government.
The plane is expected to be ready in 2015. Rocky and Bullwinkle can sleep easy for now, but the boys at Boeing better come up with something quick.
