The Walking Dead — Trailers, pre-screenings, and more
Heads up New York Comic Con. AMC will preview the first full scenes of their highly anticipated new television series, The Walking Dead, on Sunday, October 10 at 2:15 PM in the IGN Theater. The event includes a panel discussion with producers and actors about the shooting process, followed by a Q&A session.
The official trailer depicts an opening sequence rivaling Jim’s epiphinal (not a real word, but I like it) walk through evacuated London in Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later. But this post-apocalyptic nightmare isn’t the standard run, shoot, try-not-to-die pattern of many zombie flicks. Told through the lens of a county sheriff and a small group trying to survive, the series will highlight the depth and darkness of human emotions when faced with the constant fear of being eaten alive.
Based on the graphic novel by, Robert Kirkman, the television series comes to life under the direction of executive producers Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile), Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon) and Kirkman himself, as well as stars from movies and shows ranging from The Mist, The Big Bang Theory, and Prison Break.
